System Datacenter Engineer

We're looking for a System engineer with focus on datacenter technologies.

Datacenter Infrastructure:

·      Design and deploy the datacenter infrastructure, considering factors such as scalability, redundancy, and performance.

·      Evaluate and select hardware components, including servers and storage devices.

Server Administration:

·      Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers.

·      Manage server resources, including CPU, memory, and storage, to optimize performance.

·      Administer and maintain server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).

·      Implement security patches, updates, and configurations to ensure system stability and security.

Virtualization:

·      Deploy and manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) to optimize resource utilization and enhance scalability.

·      Create and manage virtual machines and virtual networks.

Storage Solutions:

·      Implement and manage storage solutions, including SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network Attached Storage).

·      Optimize storage configurations for performance and reliability.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:

·      Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data and ensure business continuity.

·      Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery procedures.

Monitoring and Performance Tuning:

·      Implement monitoring tools to track the health and performance of servers and storage systems.

·      Analyze performance metrics and conduct tuning activities for optimal resource utilization.

Security and Compliance:

·      Implement security measures to safeguard servers and data.

·      Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data protection and privacy.

Capacity Planning:

·      Monitor resource usage trends and plan for capacity expansion based on organizational growth and evolving requirements.

Troubleshooting and Support:

·      Respond to incidents and provide technical support for datacenter-related issues.

·      Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems.

·      Education: A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is often preferred, but not required.

·      Certifications: Relevant certifications to demonstrate the expertise and dedication to working with Active Directory.

·      Experience:

o  3-5 years of hands-on experience in administering and managing servers, both physical and virtual.

o  Proven experience in managing server operating systems, such as Windows Server and Linux. Familiarity with various server roles and services is essential.

o  Practical experience in implementing and managing storage solutions, including SAN and NAS technologies.

o  Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies. Familiarity with backup software and recovery procedures.

·      Technical & knowledge Skills:

o  Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or similar Linux RedHat.

o  Experience with server hardware, operating systems, and virtualization technologies.

o  Proficiency in storage management and backup solutions.

o  Strong understanding of datacenter networking concepts.

o  Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements.

o  Familiarity with cloud computing concepts may be beneficial.

o  Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

·      Communication Skills:

o  Effective communication is important as you'll need to work with various teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
