Senior Technical Buyer

ASCO, part of Swiss group Montana Aerospace, began operations as a private subcontractor in 1954. Today ASCO Group is engaged in a broad range of development, engineering, manufacturing and assembly activities providing multidisciplinary subcontracting services to various markets and aerospace programs around the world.

ASCO operates from several locations, Belgium, Canada, Germany and USA, with a turnover exceeding 200 million euros. They produce over 2,500 assemblies every month and have the ambition to be a world leader in design and manufacture of high lift devices, complex mechanical assemblies and major functional components for the aerospace industry.

To support their further ambitions, we are currently recruiting a Senior Technical Buyer.

• You will be responsible for maintaining and further developing an international network of suppliers for a specific product category, taking into account specific market dynamics and volatility.
• Your product portfolio will contain raw materials such as sheet steel, alloys, metal, aluminum, etc.
• You will identify the lowest TCO by taking into account costs, delivery performance, flexibility, quality improvement, risk management, sustainability,… and strive for continuous improvement.
• You will conclude framework contracts, including service level agreements, and will manage and leverage your suppliers on their performance. You regularly monitor set KPI’s such as delivery reliability, quality, risk, sustainability, etc.
• You assure a solid buy-in and strong collaboration with both your suppliers as well as your internal customers.
• You will provide benchmark information and keep abreast on market tendencies and changes. You will proactively search for new suppliers and initiatives in order to find new business opportunities from a procurement prospective.
• The Procurement team consists out of 6 (Senior) Buyers. You report directly to the Purchasing Manager.

• You preferably obtained a Master’s degree and have +5 years of experience in Procurement of raw materials. Due to high quality standards, you ideally have experience within the Aerospace- and/or Automotive industry.
• NEVI or VIB/PI1-2 qualifications are an advantage.
• You have a proven track record of developing and maintaining long-term relationships with international suppliers.
• You are considered a reliable and valuable business partner for both clients and colleagues and assure strong stakeholder management.
• You have a strong analytical skillset with the ability to effectively analyze market trends & dynamics, aligned with customer needs.
• You are results-oriented and like to take initiative. You combine this with a hands-on strategic approach.
• You are used to work in an industrial environment with a strong international, multi-cultural and customer-oriented mindset.
• You are fluent in English, speaking French and/or Dutch is preferred, knowledge of German is considered an advantage.
• You will be based in ASCO’s HQ in Zaventem and are flexible towards traveling in Europe.
