The Payroll/Compensation & Benefits Specialist will be responsible for the preparation, processing and keeping up to date of the Comp & Ben portfolio for all the locations in Europe.  

The seasoned professional we seek should be an expert in MS Office, administration, HRIS and have an affinity for HR processes as well as a good eye for potential improvements of quality and efficiency. 

This position will be based in the European Headquarters in Belgium and will report to the HR Manager in Belgium.


Main responsibilities are:

  • Participating and contributing actively in HR Projects and taking initiative to optimize hard HR processes
  • Being the main point of contact for various partners such as payroll providers, social security, insurance agents, local governments, leasing company, …
  • Conducting ongoing research into emerging trends, issues and best practices
  • Ensuring compliance with European regulations by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
  • Smooth, timely & accurate coordination of the payroll for all employees in different European countries, including cooperating with potential 3rd party employment partners, in line with policies and procedures 
  • Guaranteeing a correct onboarding and off-boarding 
  • Handling all requirements, maintenance and administration of the benefit plans (insurances & other employee benefits) incl proactive communication to employees as well as creating and maintaining benefit files
  • Handling the car fleet (A-Z)
  • Assisting in developing a consistent compensation philosophy in line with work culture and organisational objectives 
  • Preparing contracts/annexes for new employees
  • Ensure data HR data entry is processed accurately throughout the month/year to meet agreed deadlines


  • You have a significant operational payroll experience (+5 years, preferably in multinational organisations), minimum Bachelor’s degree 
  • You have a passion for people & HR and an in-depth knowledge of general accounting principles and payroll best practices
  • You have a strong knowledge of Belgian labor legislation, any additional country is a plus
  • You are an enthusiastic team player who is driven by HR data & analytics
  • You have a flair for numbers and an analytical mindset but also a hands on experience with relevant HR software and databases
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch, any additional language is a plus 
  • You have a friendly but assertive attitude, effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • You are motivated and willing to learn daily
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism and discretion
  • You are an employee who performs well in high-energy, dynamic and team-oriented environments
  • You are always looking for ways to improve or optimize the processes you own/manage
  • You have strong organizational and time management skills
  • You have an extensive Microsoft Office expertise (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in global compensation is a plus but not necessary, you are however familiar with various types of incentives and benefits
